This is my story as a first-generation Latina born in Los Angeles CA, and why I started a business around my passion for helping growth-oriented businesses and individuals EVOLVE and TRANSFORM their lives and teams into flourishing environments that truly succeed.
How It Started
Building a Foundation of Compassion- My journey from a childhood filled with adversity to a transformative life of empowerment and healing is the foundation of Ruby-Motion. I didn’t just survive to get by; I learned what it means to truly thrive. For the past five years, I’ve been teaching and empowering dedicated businesses and individuals how to build resilience and stability from within.
Driven by the transformative power of resilience and body-mind healing, I launched Ruby-Motion. My journey has taken me from working with children and families to collaborating with professionals and entrepreneurs. Drawing from my early experiences as Sunday school teacher and childcare provider has profoundly shaped my understanding of human development and emotional resilience. These early experiences, combined with my personal healing journey, laid the foundation for my work today, where I now help individuals and businesses foster environments of growth and connection.
Today, my full focus is on guiding businesses and individuals alike toward well-being and resilience. For businesses, I help boost employee well-being through tailored corporate wellness programs that foster a healthier, more productive work environment. For individuals, whether you’re looking to cultivate mental well-being, foster emotional resilience, or establish a harmonious connection with your body, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Turning Struggles into Strengths
I didn’t begin as the confident, holistic wellness mentor you see today. I grew up in an unstable environment where violence was common. My father’s incarceration and deportation, coupled with experiences that led me to suicidal ideations and hospitalization, were the turns that me to get back in the driver seat of my story. Having faced challenges that many can relate to—adversity, trauma, and emotional suppression through destructive habits. I know what it’s like to feel numb, disconnected, and confused. But I also know the freedom that comes from truly feeling and releasing the emotions and patterns of a complex past.
After college in 2019, I struggled with overwhelming anxiety and deep depression, that led me to question conventional mental health practices. I navigated a healthcare system relying heavily on medication, lacking true healing solutions. Which revealed a crucial gap – the necessity of a holistic wellness approach for individuals to address the root cause of their symptoms.
Perhaps you’ve encountered similar situations and noticed the prevalent ‘quick fix culture’.
Many individuals and professionals find themselves too preoccupied and hesitant to pause and advocate for their well-being, leading to stress, burnout, and dis-ease.
Society often emphasizes placing greater importance on others rather than themselves, disregarding the subtle cues from the mind and body, which often results in adopting a victim mentality, leading to a cycle of fear, self-doubt, and emotional distress.
This mindset was the driving force behind my personal journey and research endeavors. Interestingly, my philosophy and approach to well-being focuses on the exact opposite.
Method & Mindset
My approach is simple yet powerful, helping you respond to life’s challenges with courage and compassion.
My academic foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Northridge. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to extensive training in both physical and holistic therapies, ranging from weight training and breathwork to sound bath meditation and coaching. This diverse background allows me to offer a comprehensive and enriching experience that supports self-awareness and lasting transformation.
As a certified stretch therapist and yoga instructor, I love supporting individuals on their healing journeys through a unique blend of intentional movements and mindfulness techniques. These methods are not only effective but also accessible, helping you build emotional strength, improve physical mobility, and achieve a balanced, fulfilling life.
Building a wellness practice rooted in authenticity and compassion has allowed me to create a range of offerings, from one-on-one coaching and group experiences to corporate wellness programs, designed to provide the tools and resources needed for self-discovery, leadership, and transformation.
